أعلنت إدارة خفر السواحل الإيطالية أنها أنقذت نحو 900 مهاجر غير شرعي، بينهم 300 مهاجر أنجدتهم بارجة حربية فرنسية تشارك في عملية “تريتون” الأوروبية.
وقالت البحرية الإيطالية إن بارجة إيطالية تمكنت من إنقاذ ما يزيد عن 280 شخصا كانوا في مركب لمهاجرين غير شرعيين، وأشارت أنه عثر على جثة من بين الذين تم إجلائهم.
كما أفاد خفر السواحل الإيطالي أنه نقل ثلاثة ممن أنقذوا بمروحية إلى المستشفى بسبب معاناتهم من مشاكل صحية.
وفي عملية أخرى أنقذ زورقان، الأول تابع لخفر السواحل الإيطالي والثاني يرفع علما هولنديا، 320 مهاجرا كانوا يواجهون صعوبات في مياه مالطا وقد أجلوا إلى صقلية.
